Remote control of temperature and humidity

The temperature and humidity of many mission-critical infrastructures such as server room, computer center, networking room and technical equipment room are not adequately monitored. Even a short-term overheating of technical equipment can lead to potential failures. The humidity factor must also be controlled!

Accurate representation of the measured from the AKCP dual-humidity sensor space under the OpenNMS network monitoring system. OpenNMS is ideal for companies in the pharmaceutical industry.

Remote monitoring of important environmental factors

An inexpensive solution for web- or network- enabled remote monitoring of key infrastructures is the sensorProbe2 appliance of the renowned manufacturer AKCP Inc.

This innovative SNMP-enabled remote monitoring device provides the entry-level model of the sensorprobe and securityProbe family and is equipped with 2 RJ-45 sensor ports for quick installation of SNMP-enabled AKCP sensors.

Note:

The lateste sensorProbe2 models are equipped with 100 Mbit network connection as well as a optional sensorProbe2 PoE version (Power over Ethernet).

On the first sensorProbe2 sensor port, you can fit the extendable dual temperature and humidity sensor. Use ordinary CAT5, CAT6 or extend CAT7 network cable to extend this sensor up to 300 meters.

Equipped with sophisticated micro-electronics, the dual sensor temperature and humidity is permanently factory calibrated. Also a later "recalibration" of this sensor is not required.

All connected sensors are immediately identified by the sensorProbe2 remote monitoring appliance. If the connection to the temp / humidity sensor should be interrupted once (manipulation / sabotage etc.), you will get a reliabe disconnect alert.

Just enter the IP address of the sensorProbe2 in your web browser and you will reach the user-friendly web interface .

Check with your web browser the current temperature and humidity readings of sensorProbe2. The long-term monitoring data of the temperature / humidity sensor can be displayed graphically in sensorProbe2 web interface and can also be easily exported as a proof of your monitoring activities.

E-mail and SMS alerts

The sensorProbe2 with the dual sensor temperature and humidity is more than a web-based thermometer / hygrometer: define in the web interface your individual thresholds.

Once the critical temperature or humidity in your business critical infrastructure is reached, you will get by the sensorProbe2 remote monitoring system an reliable alert by E-mail (up to 6 different Email receiver) or by SMS (via Email to SMS gateway).

Integration of sensorProbe2 in Network Management Systems

The sensorProbe2 is SNMP compatible - using the included MIB files and SNMP utilities you can integrate the sensrProbe in network management systems (NMS) or SNMP tools.

So your sensorProbe2 monitoring device and the connected sensors are integrated into your central network monitoring integrated. The current temperature and humidity values can also be displayed and stored by the network management system.

Didactum Security GmbH recommends the open source OpenNMS solution. A guide for integration the sensorProbe2 monitoring hardware in OpenNMS is shown here.

Centralized monitoring of distributed enterprise infrastructures

Many companies and public institutions have branches or distributed technical rooms, which are often unmanned. With the help of the IP-enabled sensorProbe2 monitoring hardware, you can monitor from your control center, the physical security of your remote areas.

The included free probeManager management tool supports the centralized management of all existing sensorProbe2, sensorProbe8 and securityProbe remote monitoring devices in your enterprise-wide network. With a simple mouse click you can remote install the latest firmware or make an backup of your sensorProbe2 configuration.

Additional sensor

On the second sensor port of sensorProbe2 remote monitoring device you can attach another IP-enabled AKCP-sensor.

Our sensor range offers the following sensors: sensor temperature, sensor airflow, sensor water, smoke sensor, power monitor sensors and many more.

IP connection of digital contacts / dry contacts

Of great interest for the network connection / IP integration of existing building and safety technology is our dry contact sensor. This sensor enables the network integration of UPS, air conditioning, locking systems, burglar alarm, elevator systems into Network Monitoring Systems.

In case of failure of your air conditioning system you can remotely coordinate the technical staff from your company's headquarter. The sensorProbe8-X20, X60 and securityProbe-X20 /-X60 remote monitoring devices support 20 or 60 dry contact inputs.
